Semiotic Posters
Symbolic, Iconic, Indexical

For this project, I created a three-part poster series based on the song lyric, “Your love is always dangerous and now I’m lost in us, we’re living a lie of trust,” by Imagine Dragons. The goal was to visually interpret this verse through semiotic concepts, specifically symbolic, iconic, and indexical representation.

SYMBOLIC
ICONIC
INDEXICAL
In the first poster, I focused on a symbolic representation, using just the text of the lyric to convey the emotional weight of the words. The simple text reflects the abstract nature of the song’s message, symbolizing the internal struggle of love and trust.
For the second poster, I employed an iconic approach, depicting a woman looking at a bottle of pills in a mirror. The mirror here acts as an iconic representation of reflection, both literal and metaphorical, with the pills symbolizing temptation and the dangerous pull of addiction.
In the third poster, I used an indexical representation, showing the fractured mirror on the floor with pills scattered around, along with images of the woman’s face fragmented in the shards. This symbolizes the destructive effects of addiction on the mind, with each fragment representing a different facet of her personality, portraying the psychological toll and identity fragmentation caused by drug addiction.
Each poster builds on the previous one, using semiotic principles to deepen the narrative of emotional turmoil, love’s darker side, and the consequences of addiction.

My logo mark operates as a symbol, its meaning is defined by how I use it across platforms and the associations built through repeated exposure. It doesn’t look like nature or point directly to it, but through brand storytelling, it becomes a representation of purpose-driven design rooted in faith.
The leaf functions as an icon within my brand, it visually resembles a real-world object and represents my inspiration drawn from nature. While not the central focus of my brand, it complements my core message of intentional, purposeful design found in creation.
In my brand, green and gold serve as indexical elements, pointing to deeper values behind my work. Green reflects nature, growth, and purposeful creativity, while gold represents excellence and intention. These colors don’t literally depict these ideas, but through consistent use and context, they reference the core values that guide my creative process
